Everything from the key to the first call — in a few minutes of reading.

Where to get a key

You get a license key when you buy Simple Denoiser. On the Buy page, confirm your email with a 6-digit code, choose USD or RUB and pay on lava.top. Right after payment an email arrives with your key (it looks like SD-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and a download link.

Lost the email? Open Download again, confirm the same email — you’ll see your key and a fresh link to the installer.

Install the app

  1. Open the downloaded SimpleDenoiser.pkg and follow the installer.
  2. macOS will ask for your administrator password. That’s expected: along with the app, the installer adds a virtual microphone called “Simple Denoiser” to the system, and audio drivers need admin rights.
  3. When it’s done, the Simple Denoiser icon appears in the menu bar at the top right of the screen.

You need macOS 14 Sonoma or later and a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer).

Enter the key

  1. Click the Simple Denoiser icon in the menu bar.
  2. Paste your key into the license field and press Activate. The Mac needs to be online for this one step; after that the app works without the internet.
  3. When macOS asks whether Simple Denoiser may use the microphone, allow it — the app needs to hear your real mic to clean it up.

In the menu, Noise Reduction switches the processing on and off, and the Microphone section picks which real microphone the app listens to.

Choose the “Simple Denoiser” microphone

In the app you talk in, open its audio settings and pick Simple Denoiser as the microphone. Where to find it:

ZoomSettings → Audio → Microphone
Google MeetSettings (gear) → Audio → Microphone
TelegramIn the call window or in Settings — look for “Microphone”
DiscordUser Settings → Voice & Video → Input device
OBSSettings → Audio → Mic/Auxiliary Audio, or an Audio Input Capture source
FaceTimeVideo menu → Microphone

Menus differ slightly between versions; look for “Microphone” or “Input”. If the app was already open before you installed Simple Denoiser, restart it so the new microphone shows up.

Move to another Mac

One license works on one Mac at a time, and you can move it whenever you like:

  1. Install Simple Denoiser on the new Mac (the download link is in your email or on Download again).
  2. Enter the same key. The new Mac takes the license; the old one lets it go and stops processing.

No need to deactivate anything first. You can move back the same way.

No sound? Check this

  1. Is the app running? The Simple Denoiser icon should be in the menu bar. If it isn’t, open Simple Denoiser from the Applications folder.
  2. Is the right microphone selected in the menu? Under Microphone, choose the mic you actually speak into, and make sure Noise Reduction is on.
  3. Microphone access. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and turn on Simple Denoiser.
  4. Is “Simple Denoiser” chosen in the calling app? Check its audio settings, then restart the call or the app.
  5. Look at the status line at the top of the menu. It shows whether audio is coming in. If the input is silent, the problem is with the real microphone — try another one in the menu.
